Having found her passion only in her late teens, Elaine has dedicated her life to advocating the crucial role of the arts in each child’s development. Through the founding of The Learning Connections (TLC), Elaine hopes to educate and empower all stakeholders to collaborate and create a holistic ecosystem that would nurture a generation of kind, compassionate, and active global citizens of today and tomorrow.
Ethel is an actress, singer-songwriter and arts educator. She has acted in roles in a range of shows with companies such as The Theatre Practice, W!LD RICE, Pangdemonium and The Necessary Stage. Shahril Salleh is the artistic director of Vox Camerata, a non-auditioned community choir. He is also a researcher-practitioner and writes concert reviews in his free time.
Peggy is a community artist who writes and directs commissioned performances for organisations and festivals. Communities she has worked with include corporates, heartlanders, senior citizens, end of life patients, ex-offenders, prison officers and cultural communities like the Peranakans. She has also been developing and running theatre based rehab programmes for inmates for the Singapore Prison Service since 2006.
Alvin is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Necessary Stage. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, conferred the Young Artist Award for theatre (1998), the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture (2010), and the Cultural Medallion for his artistic excellence and contribution to Singapore’s arts and cultural landscape (2014).
Jeffrey is a theatre director, drama educator and creative producer. My heart is in connecting people, providing opportunities for people to get to know themselves, express themselves and celebrate our stories of diversity through the arts.
